The Come Up - Interviews
BOB SCERBO INTERVIEW.

1) When did you realize that you wanted to do a sequel to Don't Quit
Your Day Job? How long has the video been in the works?

I always wanted to do something with riders from Jersey, when I ended
up moving back to Jersey I got it going. It took a little less than 2
years but I worked on other stuff during it.

2) Was it intentional that it's been about 10 years since the original?
Like as an anniversary type thing almost?

No, it just worked out that way, I think it's been about 8 years.

3) Who has full parts in it? Were those all people you planned ahead of
time on having parts with, or were they just the dudes who ended up
having enough footage?

Full parts are Ratkid, Lil' Jeff, Jesse Susicki, Scott Eaton, Mike Osso
and Mike Brennan, there's lots of other people in there though. There
were a few other people I originally wanted to have a part in it but it
just didn't work out. But I would still like to do a video with those
people in the future.

4) There's one section in the video that is mostly trails, was that
planned, to match the vibe of the original DQYDJ which had one full
trails section ( and some trails in Dolecki's section )?

I like seeing trails in videos and Dolecki rides all different trails
in the area throughout the year so I thought it would be a cool
opportunity to show some Jersey trail riding, it wasn't really meant to
emulate the first video.

5) Who's this Garret dude? I know most people have never heard of him
but he does by far some of the craziest shit in the video.

I used to ride with Garret alot in '98 and '99, he was like 14 years old
and lived down the street from my dorm room. I only ran into him once
or twice after that throughout the next 7 years and I figured he quit
riding. He definitely didn't, he's easily one of the best riders I've
ever seen and no one has any idea because he stays really low key.

6) Ralph has a lot of clips in the video, probably more clips than any
video since BASE... Did he really want to make sure he had good stuff
in this since he had a part in the original? Also that feeble grind he
did at the Astoria Banks is crazy...

That's just the way Ralph rides, there usually isn't a camera around him
though. That feeble is outrageous.

7) What's it like filming a video part for you these days as opposed to
back when you were filming for the original Day Job?

It's pretty much the same.

8) I haven't really heard much about 3 of the dudes from DQYDJ in
years... Can you tell us what you know about what Joe Miloti, Adam
Weber and Rich Andreu have been up to? Do they all still ride?

Joe lives in Florida and has a Diamondback complete he rides at some
skatepark near his house, I haven't heard from Adam in a long time but
I'm sure he still rides and Rich still lives in the area and owns a
business, he still rides occasionally also.

9) Can you explain what happened with the video appearing and then
disappearing from the Skavenger site?

Hahahaha, I wanted people to be able to see the video for a short period
of time, I wonder how many people saw it. I'm sure it will be back up
there 45 seconds after the DVD comes out.

10) Ok, final question... Does it ever bug you out how many kids on the
internet talk about what kind of pants you wear and what kind of hub
you ride?

I feel bad for them.
